It is possible to ask more questions like these. How should we draw the analogy between sleep and eye health? Dr. Senay Yilmaz from Dunyagoz Etiler denoted that 6-8 hours of a regular sleep a day is needed for a healthy life and eyes. Expressing that people working especially at full stretch need to sleep regularly and rest their eyes for 5-10 minutes after lunch if possible Dr. Yilmaz said: “Studies conducted showed that at least 5 hours of sleep is needed a day. Desk Job Workers Beware!
Claiming that sleeplessness affects the desk job workers (In front of the PC) most, Dr. Senay Yilmaz warned that for that reason they should rest their eyes in accordance with the 20-20-20 rule. Defining this rule as looking 20 m. Away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes Dr. Yilmaz continued: “People usually blink their eyes 15-20 times in a minute. However, as the concentration level increases the number of blinks decrease. While working in front of the computer the number of blinks decreases to 5 and teardrops evaporate since the eyes are constantly open. This causes eyes to dry. Consciously blinking eyes more often while working in front of the PC for long hours protects the tear film and humidity of the eyes.”
