As one of the oldest names in the industry SUNSA has been offering its new products to its customers.
Having been producing mattresses for 40 years, SUNSA develops healthier products in its new factory. General manager Osman Inal introduced their company and the renovation project they have realized.
What kind of new products are you offering to your consumers?
As Sunsa, we have been developing orthopedic and healthier products to answer the needs of our customers. Hygiene and health are our priorities in our efforts. With this understanding, we closely watch the developments in fabrics, foams and spring technologies used in mattress manufacturing. We try to use the natural materials for fabrics and foams. We apply new type of spring arrangements that responds best to the body pressures. Customer satisfaction is a must in our firm.
How is the product development process in your firm? What are the trends in foam and latex kinds of mattresses?
We offered our renewed products to hotel and retail markets. In line with the ideas and proposals coming from our buyers we are going to make some changes on some of our products by utilizing natural latex materials. We will develop anti-allergic and anti-bacterial products for customer health and comfort for those who need better sleep experiences.
What is your opinion on the present outlook in the mattress industry?
As one of the oldest companies in the sector, we have been producing mattresses for 38 years. The industry is growing fast. In the last period, we reached our sales targets. Companies that adapt themselves to the changes in the market can maintain their positions. Newer companies in the market try to compete on price by offering lower class of products. They cause some harms to the industry by opening ways for unfair competition.
Do you invest in your brand and in your factory?
We follow the developments in the world. We have to have up to date machinery to keep our competitive power up. With an aim to lower our costs and increase our production capacities we renewed our machinery park. Large volumes of the products were causing prob- lems and costs in transportation. So, we decided to vacuum press the mattresses and to deliver them in semi-finished forms.
What is your position on export markets? What countries do you target to serve in?
In December we participated in ISMOB and we had established serious commercial ties with our customers in the fair. We expect that our sales will be more in 2016. Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Moldavia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Arabia and Qatar are our export markets. Our aim is to increase both the number of export markets and total sales in abroad.
