Organized with the collaboration of CNR and Turkish Home Textile Industrialists & Businessmen’s Association (TETSIAD), Evteks 2014 was held at CNR Expo Istanbul, May 21-25, 2014.
TETSIAD made a major contribution to the industry this year through its function in the organization of EVTEKS International Home Textile Fair – the second biggest home textile fair of the world – held in Istanbul at the end of May. During all 5 days, the fair was visited by 38,875 foreigners coming from 79 countries, 114,000 visitors in total.
Turkish Home Textile Industrialists & Businessmen’s Association (TETSIAD) – feeling the pulse of home textile industry in Turkey – declared that the number of visitors increased significantly this year just like every year. It was stated that many orders were taken from various countries including Middle East and former Eastern Bloc during the fair.
Being Iran, China and Russia in the first place, visitors from 79 different countries visited the fair. Other eyecatching countries showed interest in the fair included Italy, Germany, UAE, Egypt, England, Iraq and Bulgaria.

“When compared to the presited by 114,000 visitors – both local & foreigner,” declared Yasar Kucukcalik, President of TETSIAD, during his assessments after the fair. 38,875 of the visitors were foreigners. Our participants had the chance to meet with many customers from foreign countries during the fair. Many of the negotiations turned into orders at once. Some still proactively continue. In 3 months at the earliest a general assessment can be made. However generally speaking, we can say that our fair generated a business volume of 1.5 billion Dollars.”

This year, it is said that more European visitors visited the fair when compared to the previous years. Compared to the last year, the fair passes intensely with business deals. It was also very lively in terms of negotiations with foreign customers.
