Having opened 40 new stores at home and abroad, Bellona will continue to grow by opening 35 new stores this year.
Bellona is a well-recognized name around the world. Rendering furniture and mattress services with 752 stores in 60 countries, Bellona has been continuing to grow by opening new stores. Pointing out that they will make the name Bellona a world brand by having 1000 stores around the world by 2023, Bulent Alıcı, Marketing Manager of Bellona said they would keep inspiring the sector with their innovative products. Alıcı answered the questions of Sleep Well:
We’ve been hearing a lot more about Bellona mattresses lately. Would you tell us about some of your brand’s investments in this industry?
Bellona has been putting forth signature furniture and mattress products to lead the industry. For many people, Bellona is the first brand to come to mind for home fashion, and now we’re getting recognition for innovative bedding products as well. Over the past few years, Bellona has been right on the dot for introducing frontier paving products for the sleep industry at just the right time. We believe our Aloe Vera Soft and Aloe Vera Twin mattresses, developed with heavy R&D spending, will fill an important void existing in the bedding industry.The soft knit fabric and two way design make the Aloe Vera Twin easy to use, while the SL spring system enriches your sleep experience and provides optimum spinal support so you can get the best rest. Aloe Vera Soft mattress is made with Bonnel spring system, especially designed for those who prefer a medium firm mattress. This mattress has a fixed pad layer on top for superior comfort, helping you get the deep down rest your body needs.
When it comes to mattress production, hygiene is important. What kind of practices does Bellona have in place during the production phase? What is the best production method for mattresses, in terms of hygiene?
Considering the fact that mattress products come in contact with our bodies for extended periods, their hygiene is of the utmost importance. Our production policies acknowledge the importance of hygiene during each stage of the manufacturing process, so that maximum hygienic conditions are applied. Foam used in our mattresses are all Eco Teks certified. Eco Teks is a global testing and certification system that covers the entire range of production for textile raw materials, semi-finished products and final goods. At the same time, it covers the testing of non-textile components as well. Eco Teks purpose is to yield non-toxic products. Mattress ticking is another component that we are in direct contact with, thus the ticking used to cover mattresses must also be hygienic. The different technologies allow us to provide mattress ticking that provide improved comfort.
Bellona’s latest feature was adding Aloe Vera essences to mattress production. What are your thoughts on mattress industry trends? Do you think consumers prefer natural products?
The trend for improving the quality of life with healthy living and natural products has found its way to the furniture industry as well. Nowadays consumers want their purchases to be comfortable, natural and high quality. Meeting this expectation and providing products that deliver these features has become a leading priority for us. Along with our latest introduction Aloe Vera mattresses, our Bioenergy series also promise a perfect sleep environment with natural essences.
Could you share with us your goals for where you’d like to be in the global market by the end of 2015? What kind of development do you expect for exports this year?
With 40 new stores, the past year was full of new stores for Bellona. Today, Bellona has 752 stores in 60 countries worldwide. For 2015, we have plans for 35 new store openings, which will help us realize 12 percent growth. In the long term, our plans are to make Bellona a global brand with over 1000 stores worldwide.
