Established on a covered area of 15,000 square meters in 1965 Bambi Furniture Company has been rendering service to the sector with divisions of bar and section shaping, mattress and sofa springs, robe products, polish, coating, readymade, quilt, furnishing, mounting and quality control units.
Renewing its product range in line with developments in the sector every year, Bambi’s Export Manager Emre Gokmen said they had been striding to develop sleep quality and comfort since 1997. Below is an exclusive interview with Gokmen:
Could you brief us about yourself?
My name is Emre Gökmen (25). I was born in İzmir, graduated 9 Eylül University – Finance, University of Warsaw – International Business. During my education I have developed most of my interests and skills. First of all I mean on my organizational skills which have become very strong. In addition I have also learned how to be a team player and a manager. After graduation, I started to work for Bambi in 2012. I have been acting as the export manager of our company for two years.
Could you furnish us with general information about Bambi?
Bambi was established in 1965 under the name of Çetmen Sofa Groups. Since 1997 Bambi mattresses registered the brand and quality. Since 1997 we have been trying to improve the quality of sleep and face of comfort. Bambi has a long tradition of making the bedroom a place that speaks comfort, peace and happiness with our luxury bedding products. Bambi is proud to be number one mattress manufacturer in Turkey, Middle East and Europe. Bambi have 15000 square meters closed work field and 450 employees. All of our products are producing according to the standards of TSE. All of our products have design registrations certificate. We use the best raw materials for the best result that is why first we are using our products in our houses.
Could you brief us about your production?
Our production facilities are located in Torbalı – İzmir. Bambi has 6 separated productıon range, organized by company owner. First part for raw material store, second one is mattress quilt area, another one is confection area that general sewing machine used here. Another area is spring placement section, preparing bonel springs and pocket springs here. 5th area is parts connection section and finally anther part is quality control and packing section. The factory has a stabile production capacity to produce quality production. The main aim is to produce the best quality at the optimal time.
Can you inform us about your foreign trade; exports and imports?
Bambi Mattresses imports best quality wowed fabrics from confident suppliers. The rate of imports and exports is getting higher because in a free market demand is getting higher. In the end very important side for Bambi is exporting to our goods. We increased our export to Middle East, Africa and Europe %25 percent. Our targets will be %50 for next year. Our main export markets are Middle East Countries like Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Dubai, Lebanon, Jordan and some African countries like Ivory Coast, Angola, Nigeria. And lastly we opened big store in Germany. We would like to be stronger in abroad than before because this is very important for our company at the same time for our country.

How was 2013 for your company? What plans or targets do you have for 2014?
Bambi was manufacturing quality mattresses for long years but human needs getting changeable so we should follow this way for our potential customers. 2013 was new face for Bambi Mattresses design, 2014 will be new era for our luxury designed mattresses. We were produce 200 mattresses each day in 2013, we will produce 500 mattresses each day because we invest new machine for our production range. We had a 15 000 square meters work field in 2014 we will have 40 000 square meters in our new factory. Hope to give best quality service to our customers.
