Metin Huroglu: “We will offer new products which will change sleep understanding in the sleep world.”
Starting the sector with production for the automotive industry Hurpol later began to work in the fields of medical, furniture, textile and home textile with its brands of Ergofoam and Viscofoam. Hurpol started to produce Visco and Gelled Visco which have many benefits for the human health, to increase the quality of sleep. Mr. Metin Huroglu said that they would offer new products in the new year and claimed that they would change the bedding understanding with the courageous initiations they would realize. Following is an interview conducted with Huroglu:
Would you furnish us about Ergo Foam and Hurpol since the beginning?
Hurpol was established in 2002. We started working for the automotive supply industry first. Considering the development process we got the success in serving other industries. We have currently been serving medical, furniture, textile and home textile sectors with Ergofoam and Viscofoam brands. We have an experienced management, technical infrastructure and stable working trend.
What kinds of products are you producing for the mattress industry? What are their functions?
Beds are an important need for humans because we spend a great time of our lives sleeping. We are producing mattresses, pillows, orthopedic support products and gel-featured products mainly from visco. Going beyond the classical visco mattress concept we develop the kinds of mattresses which have air circulation and designed at different densities to make a difference in the market. The most important principle in our mattress production is to develop customized products to assure customer satisfaction.
What are the innovative works you realized for the bedding sector? Can you inform us about the gelled mattresses and pillows you recently developed?
We are planning to produce mobile gel pads which could be carried at home, in a car, office and many other fields. Gelled products offer pleasurable cool surface for the sleeper thanks to the gel which is closest material to the human tissue. We produce gel pads at different sizes fixed on the mattress or changeable depending on the mattress or pillow.
You have other products in addition to gelled products. How important are they for the human health?
Visco was developed by NASA for astronauts and later was used in the industry in order to lessen the burden loaded over the spine. It takes the shape of the user’s body. It is orthopedic and at normal softness. Those people who use vsico product are witnessed with less joint and spine diseases. It comforts blood circulation. It is also a fact that it increases sleep quality. We import the materials for visco and gelled mattresses from abroad.
What are the most important factors in the production of healthy mattresses?
The most important factor is the materials used in production. Then comes the harmony of the materials used in production. The production plant’s atmosphere must be clear and hygienic.
How is the export situation of your company?
We have been successfully exporting to Europe, Russia, Arabian Peninsula and Balkan countries. Our major target is to ship to all parts of the world.
How was 2013 for your company and what are your prospects for 2014?
Considering the positive reflection of the stability in Turkey over the economy we also experienced a good time. 2013 has been a good year for the familiarization of our products in the market. We are planning to export more in 2014. We will export gelled products to foreign markets in addition to its current sales in domestic market thereby making our brand one of the most influential and bestselling brands.
Anything would you like to add?
Finally I should mention that we have some different projects. I cannot give the details but they are already underway. The sector will witness our surprises. I could only say that we will keep striding to change the classical understanding in the sleep industry.
