Entered in the textile industry as Eda Tekstil in 2003, the company now serves to its customers as Edas Mattress and Home Textile company by opening new stores and increasing its service quality. Murat Kocyigit, general manager of the company informed about his company who deals with natural and healthy materials in manufacturing.
Will you inform us about your new investments?
We have been expanding our factory from 2 thousand sqm to 5 thousand sqm where we produce mattresses, bases and home textile products. The volume of production will grow in line with growing demand. We are extending our product line by additional natural product varieties. We have opened our 57th store in three years. Our target for the year 2016 is to have 80 stores. We are proud to be one of the producers of natural sleep products and we keep investing in this market. Storeowners are expressing their satisfaction about our products.
What is the position in terms of your research and development efforts for new products in the sector?
In R&D studies we have a concept based on naturality. We try to seek new opportunities in the market, with our experienced personnel. As the first manufacturer of natural mattress our company tries to raise the limits in terms of product quality. We make our products out of natural cotton and wool.
What is your assessment about the position of Turkish manufacturers of mattresses?
Issues on selling prices and the range of prices cause some uneasiness in the sector. There seemed more than thousand companies registered, however, number of people in the meeting of the companies are seen less than 100. Another point is the certification of the quality. We produce natural products and test our products by themselves then launch them in the market.
How are your exports? Which countries do you export, and which countries do you target?
Small or large there always be problems in manufacturing and exporting our products. We had overcome all of them in the past. We mostly export our products to Holland, Georgia, Austria, Germany and Iraq. 30 percent of our manufacture is exported. There are some developments in Europe and in Asia. We are watching them. We aimed more sales both in the country and in export marketing.
