ABC Furniture that is a brand belonging to Taskiranlar Group of Companies, which has an experience of more than 40 years, aims at increasing its sales abroad by focusing on export in the new term.
The company which has begun to produce all groups necessary for a house aims at developing itself in the sector with its recent investment in matterss production lines. ABC Furniture Foreign Trade Coordinator Burhan Gul, who indicates that trade is important in Turkey, said that the currency coming as a result of export is beneficial for the country, so that they place a great emphasis on export.
“We have the most modern and new mattresses”
We invested on mattress production nearly two and a half years ago. I can say that we are one of the best 15 producers in terms of machinery and technology because we use hotmelt system in the production. You have to stick the layers in the mattress in some way. If you make this adhesion, which you do in the closest place to your body, with glue, you may be exposed to certain chemical interactions. Although it is said that it is user-friendly and harmless for health, it is possible that glue may evaporate from the layers in hot and humid and people will breath this. Hotmelt is a material that melts in 200 degrees. You use a plastic between the layers by melting it. It has not any smell or steam because it is a complete grain. That grain melts and is placed between the layers. When it dries, adhesion is provided.
What do you think about the importance of a bed?
A bed is the product people use at most. We are always trying to emphasize this. People can pay hundred of thousands for cars they use for only an hour a day. However, they do not show the same sensitivity for their beds on which they sleep for 8 hours a day. A bed is the most important factor for the health and rest of a person. Performance and energy of the next day is related to the sleep at that night. A body rests with sound sleep for only 45 minutes at night. Your bed comfort is very important to speed up your passing to this sound sleep. Thus, we place emphasis on this in all sleeping technologies. For this reason, we use the most developed systems. Our quilting machine is the one with the most developed technology around the world. We use completely German technology in bed.
Can you tell us about characteristics of the mattresses you produce?
For our beds, we used special fabrics we bought from a company that has patent in Europe. All of them are hygienic and anti allergy fabrics. In addition to this, we use fabrics having characteristics like being anti-stress or anti-aging that receives the negative electricity in our body. We are trying to offer the best products in terms of quality and technology to the market. Consumers, of course, do not know our brand in an institutive sense. However, we are a brand that is preferred by sellers. Although our main business line is furniture and soft groups, we have passed these products on which we are experienced with our bed investment in a year. We are going to make this a brand with consumer-wise advertisements in 2014.
In terms of capacity, we produce 1 bed in a minute. It is a really great success to produce this kind of beds in such a short time.
Can you tell us about your plans related to export?
We have been more active about exports this year because we spent the process until this year for structuring. We performed bed investments as well as our continuing soft group. Thus, we introduced our varieties in full this year. From now on, we produce everything that will be needed in a house. Finally we have reached a position in which we will break through in export and are powerful. We have drawn a more effective route for export with our team and foundation this year. We want to grow this by continuing on this basis in the coming years. Our export goal for the year 2014 is 10 million dollars. And this constitutes 25% of our production.
How is your domestic planning?
We have regional directorates in Istanbul and Ankara. Our factory is in Manisa. We are sending products from our own regional warehouses to retail shops. There are more than 400 points which sell our products around Turkey. In addition, we have bed corner points as Shop in shop. We wanted our dealers to assign an area for us in their own stores. Our architect team we sent here created areas suitable for our concept. There are 130 corners as sleep centers.
Can we learn your thoughts about the years 2013 and 2014?
The year 2013 passed with a growth of 32% as per our company. We have a growth target of 25% in 2014. However, we want to achieve this growth by increasing our share in export. We also concordantly attain the fairs abroad as we do for all fairs in Turkey. We most recently attained a fair in Morocco. In the following term, we will attain fairs in China abroad and Izmir and Antalya in Turkey. The first 4 months of 2014 will pass with a busy period for fairs. Next periods will pass for the goal of increasing sales with the impression and experiences we get from these fairs.
